MSAKI & JESSE CLEGG DROP ‘ENTROPY’ SHORT FILM: A CINEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH LOSS, LOVE & REBIRTH

Msaki & Jesse Clegg Transform Their EP Into A Poetic Visual Experience

Msaki and Jesse Clegg, two of South Africa’s most respected and internationally recognised artists, have unveiled the Entropy short film, a powerful visual companion to their collaborative EP, reimagining the project as a fully immersive cinematic experience.

Built as a series of interconnected visual chapters, the film weaves together the emotional and sonic worlds of Entropy into one cohesive narrative. It takes viewers through a quiet but deeply moving journey of loss, transformation, and rebirth, mirroring the personal themes at the heart of the music. Moving between intimacy and expansiveness, the film captures fleeting yet impactful moments of vulnerability and connection, reflecting the evolving creative and personal dynamic between the two artists.

Crafted over three years and filmed across multiple cities including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, and New York, Entropy has always been more than just an EP; it is a layered artistic exploration. The short film expands on this vision, offering a visual meditation on meaning, complexity, and finding clarity in an unpredictable world. Every frame feels intentional, echoing the poetic lyricism and emotional honesty that define both Msaki and Jesse Clegg’s artistry.

Directed by Marty Bleazard, the Entropy short film avoids a linear storyline, instead unfolding as an interpretive visual experience. It invites audiences to find their own meaning within it,  a space where sound, image, and emotion exist as one.

“Once we had decided on a short film in six parts, there was no going back… the Entropy Cinematic Universe became real, a reckless love story set against the backdrop of Joburg. Each song on this EP is magical, and I hope everyone connects to the story and characters in some way,” shares Marty Bleazard.

As the final chapter in the Entropy visual journey, the film encourages viewers to experience the music differently, not only to hear it, but to see it, feel it, and live inside it.
