Pamela Mtanga Is Taking Over Your TV Screens! Two Shows, One Star and a Prime-Time Era in Full Swing
Two shows, two completely different worlds, and a familiar face making herself right at home on your TV screens. South African television presenter and multimedia personality Pamela Mtanga is stepping into a new chapter of her career, and if her latest moves are anything to go by, she is just getting started.
Mtanga is bringing her signature presence to Mzansi Magic with VIP Lounge and Elevator Love, giving viewers two more reasons to tune in every week. From the people shaping South African pop culture to singles hoping to find a spark before the elevator doors open, she is showing just how much range one presenter can bring to the screen.
On VIP Lounge, Mtanga teams up with musician and presenter Zulu Mkhathini for a lifestyle and entertainment magazine show that gets up close and personal with the people, places and moments shaping contemporary South African culture. Produced by Homebrew Films, the series takes viewers behind the scenes of celebrity spaces, film and television sets, major cultural events and the creative industries making waves.
Think music, fashion, television and the personalities behind the headlines, all through a distinctly South African lens. At its heart, VIP Lounge celebrates Black South African excellence and creates space for the stories behind the success, the culture and the people keeping the industry moving.
Then, just when you think you have seen it all, Elevator Love switches things up.
The reality dating series puts romance on the clock, challenging hopeful singles to make an impression during a single elevator ride. With prospective partners pitching themselves to a singleton and their trusted inner circle, there is little time for overthinking and plenty of room for unexpected chemistry. Mtanga guides the encounters, conversations, and decisions as the pressure builds and first impressions do their thing.
It is a playful premise that makes room for awkward moments, bold moves, genuine connections, and the kind of spontaneity that keeps viewers watching. Because when it comes to love, sometimes all you need is one ride and a little courage.
Together, the two shows reveal different sides of Mtanga. VIP Lounge taps into her love for entertainment, culture, and meaningful storytelling, while Elevator Love lets her lean into her warmth, quick wit, and ability to connect with people in unscripted moments. Whether she is rubbing shoulders with industry heavyweights or navigating the unpredictable world of modern dating, she brings a presence that feels right at home in both spaces.
And this latest chapter comes with a celebration of its own.
To mark the premiere of Elevator Love, Mtanga hosted an intimate private watch party at Nook in Sandton on Sunday, 18 October. The gathering brought together members of the production crew, close friends and guests, including Siya Bunny and actress Ayakha Ntunja. It was an opportunity to celebrate the new show with people who have been part of her journey, bringing her personal and professional worlds together for a special moment.
“What makes this moment so special is that the shows bring out different sides of me. VIP Lounge taps into my love for entertainment, culture and storytelling, while Elevator Love is playful, spontaneous and so human. It means a lot to return to television in this way, and even more to celebrate it with people who have supported my journey,” expresses Pamela Mtanga.
Of course, this is not Mtanga’s first time commanding the screen. Her television journey includes Massive Music on Channel O, Afrimaxx on The Home Channel and Will He Say Yes? on Honey TV. She has also co-hosted Miss South Africa 2025 and the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) 2025, while taking the stage at major events such as the TikTok Awards, the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival and the South African Film and Television Awards red carpet.
Beyond television, Mtanga has built a multifaceted career spanning fashion, Formula 1 storytelling and brand partnerships with names including adidas, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and Vaseline. Her work across broadcasting, digital storytelling and live entertainment reflects a presenter who understands how to move between platforms while keeping her personality at the centre.
Now, with VIP Lounge and Elevator Love adding to her growing portfolio, Pamela Mtanga is giving viewers a double dose of what she does best. One moment, she is bringing audiences closer to the people shaping the culture; the next, she is watching sparks fly in an elevator.
Two shows, double the star power and a whole lot more to come. Pamela Mtanga’s prime-time era is officially in motion, and trust us, you will want to be watching.
